Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North Film Screening and Interactive Dialogue

Screening of the film Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North followed by a processing session

Sponsored by The Robbins House, First Parish in Concord and The Concord Museum

In Traces of the Trade, Producer/Director Katrina Browne tells the story of her forefathers, the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. Given the myth that the South is solely responsible for slavery, viewers will be surprised to learn that Browne’s ancestors were Northerners. The film follows Browne and nine fellow family members on a remarkable journey that brings them face-to-face with the history and legacy of New England’s hidden enterprise. A processing session will follow led by Katrina Browne, film producer/director and Elon Cook, Robbins House humanities director.

Free; $10 suggested donation. Reserve a space online or call 978-369-9763, ext. 216.
