The Robbins House is partnering with the Acton Foo

The Robbins House is partnering with the Acton Food Pantry this holiday season. They are seeking donations of flour, oil, and boxed mixes. If you would like to donate, there is a plastic bin outside of the Wright Tavern (2 Lexington Road) where we have our museum office. Donations can be left in the bin or email info@robbinshouse.org to coordinate a drop-off time. The last day for donation drop-offs is Thursday, December 12th.

Every day of our museum season, visitors to The Robbins House discover new perspectives on local and national history and hold vital conversations on issues still facing America today. As a prominent African American historic site, we are singularly positioned to foster broader education and discussion related to diversity and equity, in Concord and beyond.

As The Robbins House begins planning for Concord’s 250th celebrations with new exhibits and educational programming for 2025, we hope on this Giving Tuesday that you will support us in our ongoing work to preserve and promote African American history that stirs conversation and expands understanding of the history of Concord and the region.

Thanks to everyone who came out to just stop by or help draw on the Ellen upstander mural today. Look for an exhbit of the five murals sometime in the spring at the house.

Also, did you know we are open one more weekend this season? If you haven't had time to come by this year, or if you just can't resist learning just a little bit more about Ellen Garrison, now is the time. We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11-4 pm. Come by and say hello!

Job Posting: Website Content Creator & Social Media Manager
Robbins House Museum is seeking a creative and motivated individual to join our team as a Website Content Creator & Social Media Manager. The ideal candidate will have a passion for history, community engagement, and digital storytelling, with the ability to manage our online presence and attend key events to capture the spirit of Robbins House.
Key Responsibilities:
• Website Management: Regularly update and maintain the Robbins House website, ensuring content is current, engaging, and accessible.
• Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to promote events, programs, and the historical significance of Robbins House.
• Event Coverage: Attend 4 spring and summer events to capture live content (photos, videos, and stories) that can be used across digital platforms.
• Content Creation: Write compelling blog posts, event recaps, and other relevant content that showcases Robbins House’s mission and activities.
• Engagement: Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to comments to build a strong online community.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in website content management (preferably WordPress or similar platforms).
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategies for growing online audiences.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
• Basic graphic design or video editing skills are a plus.
• Interest in history, social justice, or museum studies is highly desirable.
Details:
• Part-time position with flexible hours.
• Must be able to attend 4 in-person events during spring and summer.
• Remote work with occasional travel for events.
